Home-Grown, Honest and Humble

“You never forget where you’re from”

Another succinct statement from Nottingham’s newest rising star; who has recently locked horns with products of the reality television pop juggernaut that is the ‘X Factor’, as he has criticised bands such as One Direction for being led by fame and fortune instead of ‘keeping it real’. He wants to be known as a home-grown talent that gains supporters due to his musical aptitude as opposed to climbing on the Simon Cowell-dominated bandwagon, as he feels that instant recognition gets you absolutely nowhere. Despite the fact that Jake Bugg is only 19 years old he has a wise head on those young shoulders and is one of the most refreshing and intriguing acts to emerge from the underground indie scene in recent years. Composing his second album has been rather a long work in progress; as he is a perfectionist and nothing but the best is good enough for this local lad-about-town. He has been relaxing in Malibu collaborating with the established and revered Rick Rubin on his long-awaited release; Shangri La; which is eagerly-anticipated by his hordes of militant devotees.

Playing the Manchester Apollo is a real coup for this shy and retiring fellow as it is one of his biggest gigs to date. He is pencilled in for two dates this week and after the revelries of Bonfire Night will provide some much needed entertainment value to lift your spirits and re-charge your batteries. On the 6th and 7th November you can witness poetry in motion; with an added hint of passion and fast-paced delivery. He also plays on the 13th; so if you miss him this time around buy xanax then there is always another opportunity to grab one of the hottest tickets of the year. He has been compared to a young Bob Dylan with the spirit and attitude of Noel Gallagher; with a nod to old school legends like the ‘La’s, Johnny Cash and even the iconic Beatles.  After storming the stage at Glastonbury 2011 when he was just 17; he was immediately snapped up by Mercury Records and has since gone on to enjoy a string of hits and successful sell-out tours. The boy done good!

It has been a little hectic of late here at The Mitre Hotel; what with all of the Halloween and Guy Fawkes celebrations in full swing; and we are not going to let up for a second! In fact; we thrive on the hustle and bustle which inevitably comes with the start of the winter season and are fully prepared for all of the festive shenanigans next month. It is going to be a rather busy time for us as we are by far one of the most sought-after hotels in Manchester City Centre but we will take everything in our stride. Manchester City Centre hotels will no doubt be packed to the rafters come December and you can guarantee that pretty much all of the restaurants in Manchester City Centre will also be fully booked. Our Gastro eatery is comfortable, spacious and relaxing and we have also devised a brand new menu which has been created to cater for all requirements. If you want to discuss table availability then all you have to do is call The Mitre Hotel today on 0161 834 4128.
