Manchester Christmas Markets
Whether you’re counting down the days or you’re still brushing away the fake cobwebs from your Halloween décor there’s no denying that the holidays are coming!
Manchester’s beautiful Christmas light switch on last Saturday November 3rd really has brought the city’s festive celebration into a wintry fruition. The live entertainment by The cast of Wicked, Jonas Blue, Dr Dolittle and Max George switching on the lights packed out Albert Square with wide-eyed Christmas fanatics.
The lights dressing up lampposts, trees and buildings all about the city centre have truly brought a magical sparkle to the city and an exciting inkling of Christmas spirit to Manchester.
All the market’s log cabins are standing poised to fling open their doors to fascinated market revellers on November 9th. The famous Witch House Bar is a must-see spectacle on Cathedral Street – with it’s giant bratwurst signage and gingerbread inspired appearance. Stop here for mulled beverages, sausages of course, beers and a spot of shopping.
The markets at Exchange Square will open from 10am to 7:30pm daily in November and 10am to 8pm daily in December – great news though as the bar and food stalls will open until 9pm daily if you want to soak up the atmosphere!
If you’re not quite finished celebrating the beginning of the Christmas countdown or big crowds aren’t your cup of tea, not to worry! We’ve got you covered with our bar opening daily ‘til late. Our festive bar menu kicks off on the 9th so you can enjoy the festivities with hearty Christmas spirited food and beverages and beat those long queues and chilly temperatures.
Manchester’s amazing addition to the 2018 Markets – Ice Village – also kicks off on the 9th of November at Cathedral Gardens in the family zone outside the Football Museum, ice fans can also look forward to the return of the beloved ice-skating rink at the same site.
