Cocktail of the month: November

“Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot!”

This November our cocktail of the month is a taste bud tingling Dark and Stormy. Add some crackle to your pallet with these spicy little numbers. Dark and Stormy is traditionally based with dark rum and our gorgeous recipe uses The Mitre’s house dark rum, Captain Morgan’s, as a deliciously sweet base for the cocktail of the month.

The decadently flavoursome cocktail packs a punch mixing Captain Morgan’s dark rum complemented perfectly by Fever Tree’s ginger ale. The Dark and Stormy gives off an elemental flavour that mimics the Autumn colours and crackles like popping candy as it warms you up.

Good thing the November cocktail of the month is on offer throughout November for two cocktails for £12 for they’re delightfully moreish. Our festive menu launches December 9th and boasts a hearty stew or two which pair like a dream with the Dark and Stormy cocktail so why not visit with a friend or a group? Shy away from the cold this November and only agree to a storm you can drink!

We garnish our Dark and Stormy with fresh orange that adds beautifully to those autumn auburns swirling around your highball glass. The zesty taste of the garnish adds an extra kick to the cocktail and creates a refreshing zing with every sip.

You can also drink the Dark and Stormy as a refreshing short cocktail – full of cubed ice and a rum and ginger ratio perfected to an art. It’s a delicious sipping drink for November, delivering the same fresh flavours with that extra punch that you may be looking for this Guy Fawkes’ night.

Happy Bonfire Night – please enjoy all drinks and fireworks responsibly!
